The Malung-Sälen Hockey Academy is a unique sports education programme where you can benefit from Malung’s long experience of working with elite-level student athletes who wish to combine their studies with sport. Highly qualified coaches in both ice hockey and physical education will lead the training sessions, which are scheduled during the day. You’ll enjoy a unique proximity between the school, the ice rink, the training facilities and your accommodation. The Hockey Academy has a partnership with Malungs IF, and in the evenings you’ll have the opportunity to join the U18 team. At the Hockey Academy, you’ll get more training time than at larger clubs, which will help you develop more quickly as a hockey player.

If you’re interested in practising your sport as part of the individual choice programme in upper secondary school, Local Sports Education (LIU) might be for you. You apply to LIU/LIP as early as Year 9. This is done as part of the same application you submit to the upper secondary school. If there are a large number of applicants, places will be allocated by lottery. For pupils on the LIU/LIP programme, the ‘individual choice’ programme begins in Year 1 and continues throughout all three years.
