Uddevalla HC is launching a LIU programme specialising in ice hockey for Year 1 pupils, starting in the autumn term of 2021 at Uddevalla Upper Secondary School. The courses – ‘Physical Education & Health: Specialisation 1 and 2’ – will be offered as individual choices over a three-year period. We believe it is important to give players the opportunity to combine school and hockey locally, and we hope that more players will remain with local hockey clubs throughout their upper secondary school years. The programme will focus on individual development with two training sessions a week and will mainly take place at Fridhemshallen. During the season, from August to mid-April, training will mostly consist of on-ice sessions, but will also include some fitness training and theory.

If you’re interested in practising your sport as part of the individual choice programme in upper secondary school, Local Sports Education (LIU) might be for you. You apply to LIU/LIP as early as Year 9. This is done as part of the same application you submit to the upper secondary school. If there are a large number of applicants, places will be allocated by lottery. For pupils on the LIU/LIP programme, the ‘individual choice’ programme begins in Year 1 and continues throughout all three years.
