Admission to the National Sports Education Programme (NIU) is a separate process and does not affect the choice of study programme. Solna Gymnasium works in partnership with AIK Hockey to create the best possible conditions for elite-level training during school hours. Since autumn 2011, it has been possible to study the National Sports Programme (NIU) specialising in ice hockey. The programme is certified by the Swedish Ice Hockey Association (SIF) and provides you with the ideal preparation for playing at elite level in the future.

All applications are processed and assessed. Those who proceed to the next stage of the process will then be invited to a trial training session and an interview with the relevant teachers. All applicants will be notified of the decision by 8 February at the latest via email from the association. Please note that admission via the sports programme does not guarantee a place at Solna Upper Secondary School. You must also meet the academic entry requirements for your chosen programme.

Applications to Linköping Elite Sports Upper Secondary School are made in two stages. Firstly, during the autumn, you must apply for a sport via the relevant national sports federation and be accepted; secondly, you must apply for an upper secondary programme (during the period January–February or during the re-application period April–May). Please note: You must have been accepted onto a sport for your application to a programme at the Elite Sports Upper Secondary School to be valid.
