Huddinge Hockey, in collaboration with Huddinge High School, runs a nationally approved sports education program (NIU) authorized by the Swedish Ice Hockey Association. The ice hockey high school is a central part of the club's elite activities, where talented players with good coaching and training conditions can develop into elite-level players. As a student at the ice hockey high school in Huddinge, you will not only face athletic challenges, but you will also be expected to achieve good results in your studies. We focus on developing the whole individual, i.e., providing the best conditions for a future in ice hockey and then after your hockey career. Studying and training in the NIU program means that you, as an applicant, have a great opportunity to combine high school studies with a continued focus on reaching the elite level in ice hockey.

NIU is a nationally approved sports education program where admission is subject to certain specific criteria. Students are limited to choosing four alternative NIU schools, without ranking them, so consider your choices carefully. During the application period, contact will be made with club coaches and district coaches, and trial training sessions and scouting of matches will take place. Assessment and ranking of applicants will be carried out by the respective organizing high school, collaborating association, and the instructor responsible for training. Reserve places may be offered to players, which means that they will be offered a place if any of the accepted players choose to decline or drop out. If it turns out that the teams in the club change significantly during the fall and more places can be offered, a no/rejection may also be changed to an offer of a place, provided that the student has not accepted a place in another location.

Applying to Huddinge Elite Sports High School is a two-step process. First, during the fall, you must apply for a sport through the respective sports association and be accepted. Second, you must apply for a high school program (during the period January-February or during the re-election period April-May). Please note! You must be accepted into a sport for your application to a program at Elitidrottsgymnasium to be valid.
