Pupils at the ice hockey upper secondary school follow a three-year theoretical programme in which a sports specialisation forms part of the curriculum. The programmes currently on offer are the Natural Sciences Programme, the Economics Programme and the Social Sciences Programme. The sports specialisation is divided into Physical Education and Health 1 and 2, and Sports Specialisation 1 and 2, which together account for 200 credits of the 2,500 credits to be earned over three years. The sports specialisation takes place twice a week as part of the school timetable. Training sessions are held on Wednesdays and Fridays from 08.00 to 11.00. Over the course of a week, pupils train on average 6–8 times and play 2–3 matches. The Sports Upper Secondary School endeavours to adapt the timetable to accommodate ice hockey, and the school’s sports coordinator is in constant contact with coaches and club representatives. The school works to optimise the pupils’ timetable.
