About Väsby Hockey High School

About Väsby Sports Gymnasium

LIU is a local program with a clear focus on sports. Through the school's collaboration with Väsby IK Hockey Club, we give you the opportunity to get a good education while pursuing your hockey career. As an individual choice, you will take the courses Sports and Health Specialization 1 and 2. The course Training Theory 1 is available as an extra elective course and is part of the extended program.

How does the process work in Väsby?

If you are interested in practicing your sport within the framework of the upper secondary school's individual choice, Local Sports Education (LIU/LIP) may be something for you. You apply to LIU/LIP as early as grade 9. This is done in the same application as you apply to upper secondary school. If there are many applicants, a lottery will be held. For students attending LIU/LIP, the individual choice starts in grade 1 and continues throughout all three years.

Be at a high level in terms of hockey skills, including technique, game understanding, and mental strength.
Be able to take a lot of personal responsibility for your development, both in hockey and at school.
