Do you want to develop and commit to your sport? Then the Hockey Sixth Form at IK Oskarshamn is the perfect choice for you. We’re looking for young people who are passionate about their sport, who are among the best in their region for their age group, and who aspire to become elite-level ice hockey players. Through this programme, we aim to develop future elite players and well-rounded individuals. That is why IK Oskarshamn, in collaboration with the school, has devised a programme that provides you with the opportunities and support needed to succeed in both your studies and ice hockey. It is important to us that, by the end of your sixth-form years, you are well prepared for the future, both in terms of sport and education. Several players in IK Oskarshamn’s first team have come through the hockey sixth-form programme and IK Oskarshamn’s junior programme. Players such as Tom Linder, Filiph Engsund, Oscar Engsund and Olle Lycksell have progressed through the hockey sixth-form programme and on to our first team in the Hockeyallsvenskan or further to play in the SHL.

If you’re interested in practising your sport as part of the individual choice programme in upper secondary school, Local Sports Education (LIU) might be for you. You apply to LIU/LIP as early as Year 9. This is done as part of the same application you submit to the upper secondary school. If there are a large number of applicants, places will be allocated by lottery. For pupils on the LIU/LIP programme, the ‘individual choice’ programme begins in Year 1 and continues throughout all three years.
