Following a great deal of hard work over the autumn, HC Vita Hästen’s ice hockey sixth-form college will become the Swedish Ice Hockey Association’s ‘Recommended Local Ice Hockey Programme’ from August 2021. The municipal upper secondary schools in Norrköping, in collaboration with the HC Vita Hästen ice hockey club, have been classified by the Swedish Ice Hockey Association as a recommended local ice hockey programme. Development work on the junior programme is ongoing. Throughout the autumn, we have worked hard to develop the programme through documentation, planning, training sessions and in many other ways to ensure the quality of the education provided. Part of this development work has involved establishing the hockey upper secondary school programme to ensure it is approved and classified by the Swedish Ice Hockey Association.

If you’re interested in practising your sport as part of the individual choice programme in upper secondary school, Local Sports Education (LIU) might be for you. You apply to LIU/LIP as early as Year 9. This is done as part of the same application you submit to the upper secondary school. If there are a large number of applicants, places will be allocated by lottery. For pupils on the LIU/LIP programme, the ‘individual choice’ programme begins in Year 1 and continues throughout all three years.
