Leksands Gymnasium offers nationally approved sports education (NIU) in ice hockey in collaboration with Leksands IF. The elite hockey high school is certified by the Swedish Ice Hockey Association and approved by the Swedish National Agency for Education.

Leksands Gymnasium and Leksands IF ice hockey club are working together to create the best conditions for boys and girls to develop their skills as elite hockey players. Students can combine their elite sports training with studies in all of the school's programs except for upper secondary apprenticeship training.

In collaboration with Leksands IF and Häradsbygdens SS, we offer LIU ice hockey. You train with Team Leksand during school hours, two to three days a week. All programs except upper secondary apprenticeship training can be combined with LIU ice hockey.

Applications usually open in mid-September. You can change your choices in the application until December 1, after which your choices are locked. Notifications may be sent out gradually, but all students should have received a notification by January 25 at the latest. Applications are made through the Swedish Ice Hockey Association.

The recruitment process involves scouting, references, and tryouts. Leksands IF is looking for players who have the necessary skills to become elite players in Leksands IF in the future. Players must have the right character to fit into Leksands IF's model, be determined, and have their own drive in their efforts.

The scouting group consists of leaders from across the junior organization.

Leksands IF signs individual junior contracts with players who are accepted into the hockey high school.
