LIU Ice Hockey is aimed at girls and boys in Örebro County who play ice hockey in their spare time. At LIU, you will take the courses Competitive Sport 1 and Competitive Sport 2, totalling 200 credits, which involves two sessions per week during Years 1 and 2. In Year 3, you will have the option to continue training in your LIU sport or choose to take another specialised sports course alongside other athletes.

We place great emphasis on individual development, both on the ice and in fitness training. This way, you’ll receive a comprehensive sports education that will benefit you both on and off the ice!

If you’re interested in combining ice hockey with your upper secondary school studies, the Local Sports Programme (LIU) at Örebro Sports Upper Secondary School is the right choice for you. You apply to LIU as early as Year 9. This is done as part of the same application process as for upper secondary school. You must be an active ice hockey player and a member of a club.

The Upper Secondary School Admissions Office in Örebro County is responsible for admissions to Year 1, and you can apply for our four upper secondary programmes via their website.
