To be eligible for a place at NIU, you must have approved qualifications and a final grade that entitles you to a place on your desired program. Applications for program selection are submitted in the usual way to the admissions board in your home municipality.

    Skellefteå AIK offers a LIU ice hockey high school that accepts approximately 30 students per year. The program gives students the opportunity to combine their studies with a broad, high-quality, and developmental ice hockey program.

Skellefteå Upper Secondary School has been certified by the Swedish Ice Hockey Association to provide nationally approved sports education in ice hockey. NIU ice hockey is aimed at those who aspire to reach elite level.

Applications open on September 9 when students are in ninth grade and close on December 1. Notification of athletic admission is given gradually, and all applicants will receive notification of athletic admission by January 25, i.e., before the application for program selection must be submitted to the school. The student must then decide on their offers by January 26. Students who do not respond by the deadline forfeit their offers and cannot attend an elite hockey high school.

You can apply for four different options, which do not need to be listed in order of preference.
The program is worth 400 of the total 2,500 credits required to obtain a passing grade, and its goal is to give students the opportunity to combine their hockey commitments with high school studies.
