Ice training takes place at the fantastic Halmstad Arena. It has two ice rinks with a total of three ice surfaces. Halmstad Arena has a gym and theory classrooms in modern premises. All pupils at Aspero also receive a gym membership for the Idrottscentrum training facility, a partner gym of Eleiko Sport. Halmstad Hammers were one of the driving forces behind the launch of Aspero Sports College in 2002. Thanks to this long-standing and close collaboration, pupils are offered a comprehensive programme where the focus during school hours is on individual development, which is then followed up by Jens during evening training sessions and matches. The aim is to train the players tactically, technically, physically, mentally and socially, in combination with studies preparing them for higher education. We prioritise individual technical training, such as shooting, skating and stick-handling techniques. We also focus on game understanding. In addition, everyone receives individual fitness training programmes, and on-ice and fitness tests are carried out continuously throughout their time at the programme. As part of your hockey training, you will also gain thorough and in-depth knowledge of diet and nutrition, anatomy, exercise science, leadership, sports psychology, injuries and rehabilitation.

If you’re interested in practising your sport as part of the individual choice programme in upper secondary school, Local Sports Education (LIU) might be for you. You apply to LIU/LIP as early as Year 9. This is done as part of the same application you submit to the upper secondary school. If there are a large number of applicants, places will be allocated by lottery. For pupils on the LIU/LIP programme, the ‘individual choice’ programme begins in Year 1 and continues throughout all three years.
