In 1995, HV71 and Sandagymnasiet opened the doors to a hockey high school and have been running a successful operation ever since. Well-known names such as Niklas Hjalmarsson and Jesper Fasth have completed the program, and HV71 as a club has a strong reputation for talent development. "Development and education for success" are the guiding principles at Sanda Ishockey (NIU).
Application to our NIU program and selection takes place in two stages (see below). If you are not accepted into NIU Ice Hockey, we also offer LIU Ice Hockey for both boys and girls (read more about LIU Ice Hockey below). 1. You apply to Sanda NIU Ice Hockey at Sandagymnasiet via the Swedish Ice Hockey Association's website by December 1. 2. You then apply to a program you want to study at Sandagymnasiet. Selection is based on merit points. You apply to Sandagymnasiet and the program you want to study through your school counselor at your school. This means that you must be accepted into both the sports program and the program you are applying for. If you have any questions about this, please contact us. Application for our LIU program We also offer ice hockey in the form of Local Sports Education (LIU). This means that, as part of your individual choice, you will study 200 credits over two years in "Sports and Health 1,2 – Sports Specialization." LIU is primarily aimed at those who apply locally from the municipality of Jönköping. If you apply from another municipality, you will be placed as a secondary applicant, which means that you are not guaranteed a place at LIU. You can apply to LIU Ice Hockey using the form by March 1 at the latest. You also need to apply to Sandagymnasiet and the program you want to study at your school counselor at the school you are currently attending. We will contact everyone who has applied for Local Sports Education and confirm that you have been accepted by March 15 at the latest.

Applying to Jönköping Elite Sports High School is a two-step process. First, during the fall, you must apply for a sport through the respective sports federation and be accepted. Second, you must apply for a high school program (during the period January-February or during the re-election period April-May). Please note! You must be accepted into a sport for your application to a program at the Elite Sports High School to be valid.

Applications are submitted online between September 1 and December 1. Application documents and other information can be found at: Application & Admission
