IF Troja-Ljungby runs one of the Swedish Ice Hockey Association's 33 certified ice hockey high schools, NIU. Each year, 12–14 students are admitted based on their ice hockey skills and grades. Students have the opportunity to combine high school studies with an elite ice hockey program. Through focused training, they have the opportunity to develop and become better ice hockey players, with their sights set on an elite career as ice hockey players. Players receive a well-rounded basic education with a large dose of training under the guidance of professional coaches. Training sessions take place during school hours. Over the years, many players have gone through the Ice Hockey High School and Troja's Youth and Junior programs and on to Troja's men's team and other elite clubs in Sweden, Europe, and North America.

Here you have the opportunity to combine high school studies with an elite ice hockey program. Through dedicated training at the National Sports Academy, NIU Ice Hockey, you can develop your talent and become a better ice hockey player. You will receive a well-rounded basic education with a large dose of strength training under the guidance of professional coaches. Training sessions take place during school hours. When you complete the program, you will have a Level 1 coaching qualification. You will have 400 credits of your high school credits allocated to ice hockey (200 credits for program specialization, 200 credits for individual choice). The program is for elite-level players and is open to everyone.

Applying to Ljungby Elite Sports High School is a two-step process. First, during the fall, you must apply for a sport through the respective sports federation and be accepted. Second, you must apply for a high school program (during the period January-February or during the re-election period April-May). Please note! You must be accepted into a sport for your application to a program at Elitidrottsgymnasium to be valid.
