Through a partnership between Mjölby Gymnasium and Mjölby Hockey, we are recognised by the Swedish Ice Hockey Association as a local ice hockey centre of excellence. This means that we provide quality-assured training with specific training requirements for coaches, and that goalkeeping coaches are on hand. The aim of offering ice hockey as an optional course is to give those of you who want to take your ice hockey to the next level the chance to develop your individual skills at scheduled times during school hours. The focus is on individual development in technical aspects. Video feedback is provided on an ongoing basis throughout the academic year/season. Mjölby Hockey is a club committed to quality and focused on player development. Mjölby Hockey’s first team competes at the top of Division II, whilst the A and B junior teams play in Division I. The junior teams have also been competing at the top of their leagues, with play-offs against elite teams in recent seasons. Pupils on the hockey programme play at all levels, from the B juniors right up to the first team. An information evening and try-outs/trial sessions will take place during November. In addition, Mjölby Upper Secondary School is holding an open day and taking part in various upper secondary school fairs.

If you’re interested in practising your sport as part of the individual choice programme in upper secondary school, Local Sports Education (LIU) might be for you. You apply to LIU/LIP as early as Year 9. This is done as part of the same application you submit to the upper secondary school. If there are a large number of applicants, places will be allocated by lottery. For pupils on the LIU/LIP programme, the ‘individual choice’ programme begins in Year 1 and continues throughout all three years.
