IF Mölndal Hockey is delighted and proud to be one of only 36 ice hockey clubs in the whole country to be authorised to run a ”local ice hockey programme recommended by the Swedish Ice Hockey Association”. This collaboration is with Hulebäck Upper Secondary School and provides the opportunity for ice hockey training during school hours as part of the individual choice programme and the ‘Sport and Health – Specialisation 1 and 2’ courses. You can study the Social Studies, Natural Sciences, Economics or Childcare & Leisure programmes in combination with your ice hockey training. This cutting-edge programme is aimed at those who wish to combine upper secondary studies with their commitment to ice hockey. The timetable is designed to facilitate a balanced routine of varied training, nutrition, study and recovery. Ice training sessions take place twice a week at the Åby ice rink under the guidance of coaches from Mölndal Hockey and HockeyPT. The training sessions focus on individual development, technique and strength. In the evenings, you’ll train as usual with your team to develop your full potential.

If you’re interested in practising your sport as part of the individual choice programme in upper secondary school, Local Sports Education (LIU) might be for you. You apply to LIU/LIP as early as Year 9. This is done as part of the same application you submit to the upper secondary school. If there are a large number of applicants, places will be allocated by lottery. For pupils on the LIU/LIP programme, the ‘individual choice’ programme begins in Year 1 and continues throughout all three years.
