Södertälje SK's elite hockey high school is certified as a nationally approved sports education program (NIU) by the Swedish Ice Hockey Association and the Swedish Sports Confederation. During your three years at our hockey high school, you will experience an educational and developmental period. We follow the Swedish Ice Hockey Association's guidelines for our activities, but also see it as an important part of our investment in junior hockey at SSK to produce future A-team players. The education at the hockey high school focuses on both practical and theoretical aspects. The practical education aims to develop your physical condition, technique, skating, and individual understanding of the game, among other things. The theoretical education covers topics such as training theory, nutrition, sports psychology, and injury prevention training.

LIU ice hockey high school aimed at girls
Södertälje SK, in collaboration with our three high schools Täljegymnasiet, Torekällgymnasiet, and Vackastanäsgymnasiet, is launching local sports education programs, LIU, in the fall of 2020. This means that students can choose to take two courses in sports and health specialization 1 and 2. The sports available for this course are ice hockey, aimed at girls. The goal of these courses is the same as for those who apply for national sports education, namely to be able to combine sports and studies at the same time and thus remain in their hometown. Training will take place on Wednesday mornings, partly with students from Rosenborg, and on Friday afternoons with coaches from Södertälje SK.

To be accepted into NIU ice hockey, you must also be accepted into the program you are applying for. Current programs can be found on the respective school's website. Applications for program selection for upper secondary school are submitted in the usual way. If you are competing for a place in upper secondary school, you will compete with other applicants for the various upper secondary programs with your grade from grade 9.
