Tyringe Hockey runs an LIU program in ice hockey with a total of about 30 students. The program is certified by the Swedish Ice Hockey Association and gives students the opportunity to combine their studies with a serious commitment to ice hockey. Admission is based on both ice hockey ability and academic performance.

About HTS/Jacobsskolan

LIU is a local program with a strong focus on sports. Through the school’s partnership with Tyringe Hockey, we offer you the opportunity to receive a quality education while pursuing your hockey career. As part of your individual course selection, you will take the courses “Physical Education and Health: Specialization 1” and “Physical Education and Health: Specialization 2.” The course “Exercise Science 1” is available as an elective and is part of the extended program.

How does the process work in Väsby?

If you are interested in practicing your sport within the framework of the upper secondary school's individual choice, Local Sports Education (LIU/LIP) may be something for you. You apply to LIU/LIP as early as grade 9. This is done in the same application as you apply to upper secondary school. If there are many applicants, a lottery will be held. For students attending LIU/LIP, the individual choice starts in grade 1 and continues throughout all three years.

STUDIES

Training program

Classes are held at Jacobskolan or HTS - The hockey high school program is run in collaboration between the schools and Tyringe Hockey.

Study coaching

Students receive support in balancing hockey and their studies - Focus on succeeding in school with good grades - The schedule is designed to allow for practice during school hours

Schedule adjustment

The schedule is adapted to enable training during school hours.
Hockey passes are prioritized and integrated into the school day.
