About Halmstad Hockey High School

Ice training takes place at the fantastic Halmstad Arena. There are two ice rinks with a total of three ice surfaces. Halmstad Arena has gyms and theory rooms in modern premises. All students at Aspero also receive gym membership cards for the Sports Center's training facility, a reference gym for Eleiko Sport. Halmstad Hammers was one of the initiators behind the launch of Aspero Sports Gymnasium in 2002. Thanks to this long-standing and close collaboration, students are offered a comprehensive solution where the focus during school hours is on individual development, followed up by Jens during evening training sessions and matches. The goal is to educate players tactically, technically, physically, mentally, and socially in combination with college preparatory studies. We prioritize individual technique training such as shooting, skating, and stick handling. In addition, we focus on game understanding. Everyone also receives individual physical training programs, and ice tests and physical tests are conducted continuously throughout the study period. Your hockey training also includes thorough and in-depth knowledge of diet/nutrition, anatomy, training theory, leadership, sports psychology, injuries, and rehabilitation.

If you are interested in practicing your sport within the framework of the upper secondary school's individual choice, Local Sports Education (LIU/LIP) may be something for you. You apply to LIU/LIP as early as grade 9. This is done in the same application as you apply to upper secondary school. If there are many applicants, a lottery will be held. For students attending LIU/LIP, the individual choice starts in grade 1 and continues throughout all three years.
